All sessions are by appointment only. Dr. Pearis' services include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy, and consultation.
Dr. Pearis has appointment times on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and some Saturdays. The office is closed on Tuesdays, Fridays and all major holidays.
Evaluation sessions are 2 hours, psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes and medication management visits are 25 minutes.
A first appointment with Dr. Pearis involves a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and a review of any previous psychological testing/reports, evaluations, discharge summaries, report cards, medical records, laboratory reports etc. provided. Patients are required to complete a questionnaire and treatment consent prior to an evaluation. These can be sent to you by email, fax, or standard mail once an initial appointment is made by calling our office.
For adults, adolescents and most children, the initial evaluation is two hours to make impressions and recommendations. For younger children with significant anxiety or difficulty waiting, it can be helpful to divide the initial evaluation into two parts with a first meeting with the parents/primary care givers for an hour followed by a second meeting on another day with the child and parents/primary care givers for an hour. During this second meeting, impressions and recommendations are made.
In some instances, patients would like a second opinion regarding diagnosis or treatment or parents would like to discuss their child's problems with Dr. Pearis first before bringing their child in for an initial evaluation. One hour consultations can be helpful in these cases.
Follow up appointments can be scheduled online anytime if the patient has been assigned a login and password.
Cancellations/Rescheduling
To help serve all patients given limited appointment times, 48 hours advance notice (2 full business days) for cancellations or reschedules is needed. If such notification is not received, late fee charges will be applied.
